Adirondack Chairs for the Classroom

I was at Walmart today and I found these great little Adirondack chairs for just $2 a chair. They were originally almost $5 a chair but are clearanced out because they are considered a summer item. At my Walmart they were with the pool stuff and toys. (They look really tiny in the picture, but my ten year old sat in them and fit, so younger ones should fit without any problem.)

Aww the colors are so purdy!

I am going to check my Walmart because I must have these!

Does anyone know the stock number or whatever it is that they can look up to see if the local store has them? Closest Walmart is 20 minutes away and I don't want to go after this treasure without knowing it is at my local store. Thanks for the heads up!

This is a bargain but I bought them last and if a larger student sits in them they break easily. They are cute but just be careful with them. The child that it happened to was only about 60 lbs.

I just went up to my Walmart and they're still $4.97. :( But they're super cute!

Hi April,
Love the chairs! They even match my classroom theme colors. Might have to make a trip to the store today!

Love the chairs! They were still regular price at the one I went to today do you mind telling which Walmart you went to for those of us local ? Thanks!

Still the same price as before...but the Target sling back chairs are now 1/2 off---7.49 in green or red--and they are sturdier than the hard plastic. Worth a glance...

At my Wal-Mart today they were still the original price. Employee told me that each store can "clearance" whatever items they want to, so not all stores have the same clearance items. Boo!

I had 2 in my classroom last year. My students would lean back in them on 2 legs, even after repeated warnings! Ended up with breaks in the plastic where the arms are attached to the back. Trying to find something a little sturdier for this year!

I had that same thing happen with little stools from IKEA last year. Since I only paid $2 a piece for them I figured as long as they lasted for a little while I would get my money's worth. I was in a different Walmart today and noticed those were still the regular price. I assumed they all had the same pricing :(

That is exactly what I have been looking for, but I couldn't find anything like those. I bought 2 at Bed, Bath, & Beyond for a bit more than $2.

I went to my local WalMart last week to get a few of these chairs, but they were still $4.97. So I am waiting for them to be reduced :) They do look small so i am glad to know that they really are bog enough. Thanks for the idea.

I bought those for my room last year and my kids had them broken within months. They would lean all the way back in them or sit too hard and the plastic was too flimsy. My students all have autism too so they may work better for a typical class. I wish I had a set of sturdy wooden ones though!
